Borderline Mom edition by Georgiana Wright Health Fitness Dieting eBooks

This book focuses on one particular group of people affected by the disease children whose mothers are borderline. The Borderline Mom does provide insight into the disease and why borderlines act the way they do. The primary focus of the book, however, is providing everyone with a borderline mother a concrete course of action, which will help you defend yourself from the instability and emotional pain borderlines sometimes cause to those around them. Should you learn to enforce boundaries? Or cut off contact to avoid further pain? The final course of action is up to you, but this book provides you with all the tools to take the optimal course of action if the relationship with your borderline mom is causing you pain.

This book offers a few helpful perspectives, but feels more like a step by step guide for cutting off your relationship with your mom. I was hoping for something that would offer more perspective on how to successfully navigate the relationship without removing my mom from my life. Take what you need from it and read the rest with a grain of salt. The author's writing skills are pretty bad, and I often find myself having to reread sentences due to the awkward placement of comments and typos. I was hoping this book would be more professional but I get the impression that it's a long essay from someone who is just getting into psychology and has limited experience. I would not recommend this book unless you have read other BPD books first.Product details

Borderline Mom edition by Georgiana Wright Health Fitness Dieting eBooks Reviews
I read the first chapter and thought that the author was a fly on the wall at my house while growing up. This book is so helpful in that it gives you the tools to decide how you can proceed forward in your dealings with a Borderline mom. There were parts in this book that I needed to put it down and cry it out because of the unpleasant memories I have but Overall-- so wonderful & helpful.
If you have been raised by a borderline mom this book will help you to cope with the damage that has been done to you personally and emotionally. Borderline Mom gives you dialogue you can use to distance yourself from the abuse, past and present. It is written by someone who knows the hurt and the pain we suffer and offers hope for a life without the borderline craziness. I highly recommend this book and give it 5 stars.
this book helped my wife greatly! It really gives you an understanding on how to react / live with someone who has a borderline personality disorder.
But provides the spark notes version of a family system perspective of how mental disorders affect more than just the individual who may exhibit the behaviors and symptoms of BPD. It can be dramatic, traumatizing, and lingering and utterly confusing to children living with a mom who has not received care or therapeutic treatment.
Finally a book that explains in detail what steps to take to help protect yourself (physically and emotionally) when dealing with a mother who has borderline personality disorder. I really like the fact that you must always put your personal safety first and that you are NOT SELFISH to do so. I really needed that validation! Thank you!
I am a psychologist and can say this book is an excellent guide, easy to read, succinct, and incredibly informative! I gave it to the father of a 17 year old male with a Borderline mother and he thanks his dad over and over, now the boy knows it's not him and he is able to set boundaries. Thank you Georgiana Wright for your courage to write this book and help others. My only question is why did you change the cover, that woman's face on the old cover captured that borderline look beautifully!
I love this book. I keep it on my as my "go to" support book. I have read it at least three times. I often get off the phone with my mother, feeling frustrated and upset, and pick up this book. I have all the typical BPD support books, Eggshells, BPD Mother, Surviving, Oz, etc, but this one seems to get to the heart of the matter, which is validating the adult child. I don't need a history or explanation of BPD, I've read all those books. This is the book that tells me, "You are not a disloyal or unfeeling daughter to feel frustrated with your mom. Dealing with a borderline mother can be exhausting and overwhelming, so cut yourself some slack!" Somehow, this is what we all want to hear, and so for that reason, I think this book does what other books do not do. It is like the "validating witness" that helps us through the experience. I will never delete it from my . The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because I wanted it to be longer. This author does such a great job of the subject, I wish it were three times as long!
